Are IT certifications really worth it?

Now dats a fecking fair enough question and one that the team at Auldhouse  get asked frequently. 

Take it from me course they’re fecking worth it - 


otherwise why do employers post jobs like dees:-

MS Certified SharePoint Developer - $90-120k - "Must have MS Certification in SharePoint!”

Enterprise Architect -Systems Integration - experience desired “Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts, frameworks and methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman etc) - Formal certifications desired”Information and Media Security Manager“ISACA Certified Information Security Manager,

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security” Systems Engineer - Storage - “We're looking for a Degree qualified and Industry Certified Storage Engineer”

Scrum Master - Project Manager “To be successful in this position, you will have: Scrum Master Certification plus additional hands-on experience running SCRUM projects Pushing SCRUM diligence Running SCRUM methodologies ….Ideally Prince2 certified, or other project management qualifications or certifications (PMI, PMBOK)”

Security Penetration Testing Consultant“…Anyone with the OSCP or OSCE certification would be excellent.” (I moit have to apply for dis one meself)

Lead Project Manager, Technology Delivery Services “Prince2 or PMP certification preferred”
